The Plateau Community is a small community near Eldoret, Kenya, in Africa's Rift Valley. Well, today, fresh water has dramatically dropped the rate of waterborne illnesses and absenteeism at the primary school has fallen as well. But the work is not done. Now Roper St. Francis wants to continue their Hands Across the Water initiative to include medical supplies and equipment. So, they partnered with MedShare, a non-proft company based in Atlanta, Georgia. MedShare collects surplus medical supplies and equipment from hospitals, medical distribution companies and individuals...then redistributes them to qualified health care facilities in the developing world. Hmmmm sounds like a good partnership. But the supplies don't walk across the water. So Roper St. Francis will be raising money to fund the shipping of a forty-foot container full of the much needed medical supplies and equipment. This year the goal is to collect 000. Now, what that 000 will do is ship approximately 0000 of refurbished medical equipment and supplies to their friends at the Plateau ...
